Meet Chuck Ledbetter:

36-year educator, 22 year Dadeville resident, Auburn High School and Auburn University graduate (B.A. History, M.Ed., Ed.D.), and Furman University attendee (freshman football). Taught history, coached football and basketball, and served as superintendent in Alabama and Georgia.

Career Achievements:

  • Dublin, GA (6+ years, Superintendent):

    • Charter system transformation, regional career academy.

    • School choice, IB programs, project-based learning.

    • Outcomes: 77% drop in elementary discipline, graduation rate from 64% to 94.1% (highest locally, 4 years), US News Bronze Award (2013, 2015).

  • Dothan City Schools:

    • Added STEM labs, hands-on learning, renewed AdvancED accreditation.

  • Pike Road Schools:

    • Alabama’s fastest-growing district, expanded to 3 campuses, high AdvancED score.

    • 2020: 4th highest state graduation rate, top 20 ACT scores.

  • Pelham City Schools:

    • Annual state score improvements, strategic plan, land for new high school.

Dadeville Roots:

  • Assistant football coach (4 years), head girls’ basketball coach (3 years) at Dadeville High School.

  • Principal, Councill Middle School and Dadeville High School.

  • Assistant Superintendent, Tallapoosa County Schools.

  • Active member at First Baptist Church, Dadeville.

  • Married to Kim Ledbetter, former educator; 3 daughters (all Dadeville High School grads), 5 grandchildren, son of Lowell and Linda Ledbetter.
